The App Tab (i.e., Appendix) of the eXtyles style palette includes paragraph styles that will be used to style Appendix elements that appear at the back of the document. Other back elements are also included for ease of styling.

Table of Contents

Appendix Title, Headings, and Text

Appendix Title should be used to style the number (label) and title of any appendix. It’s use will create a specific appendix (<app>) section in the <back> of the XML.

Body text within the appendix must be styled using the Appendix Text paragraph style from the App tab of the eXtyles style palette. It is important that Appendix Text be used and not Body Text so that eXtyles can ensure that the appendix content is placed correctly in the XML.

A typical Appendix title and text will look like this:

<p>Note that this appendix has been formatted for accessibility but has not been copy-edited.</p>
<p>Subgroup analyses on the primary outcome (&#x2265;&#x00A0;35% reduction in spleen response rate at end of cycle 6 with confirmation 4 weeks later), based on type of MF, MF risk status, and mutational profile, suggested a consistent benefit in spleen response rate in favour of fedratinib 400 mg over placebo for each of the evaluated subgroups of the ITT Population, for spleen response rate confirmed 4 weeks later, especially for &#x201C;risk status&#x201D; and &#x201C;MF types.&#x201D;</p>
....
</app>

Additionally, any subheadings that appear within the appendix must be styled using the appropriate Appendix Heading paragraph styles on the App tab of the eXtyles style palette.

</app>

For any other type of content in the appendix, regular eXtyles paragraph styles can be used. In the previous example, note that the bulleted list is styled using regular list styles (List Level 1, List Level 2, etc.). These styles have been conveniently placed on the App tab of the eXtyles style palette to ease paragraph styling.

Bibliographies

Bibliographies are distinct from references in that bibliography entries are not cited in the body of the report. Because of this, any paragraph styled as Bibliography_Entry is excluded from Citation Matching.

Further, bibliographies they can be included in an appendix, as in the following example.

Bibliography headings can be used to separate distinct sections within the bibliography, and these sections are preserved in the XML.

Bibliography Paragraph and Annotation

Use Bibliography Paragraph to style any text that introduces the bibliography section; that is, text that is not itself a bibliography item.
