Appendix Styles
This page describes how to set up appendix material in eXtyles NLM in order to generate correct XML. There are dedicated styles for appendix titles, headings and text. Lists, tables, figures, and other content are styled using the regular styles from the Body, List, or Object tab.
Appendix Title
The Appendix Title style is used to style the overall title of the appendix. By default, eXtyles NLM expects that appendixes will be numbered using uppercase letters, i.e., Appendix A, Appendix B, etc. The appendix number should form part of the Appendix Title paragraph, separated from the caption by a strong separator.
Appendix Head 1, Appendix Head 2, Appendix Head 3
By default, eXtyles NLM provides three levels of subheadings for use in appendixes, Appendix Head 1, Appendix Head 2, and Appendix Head 3. As with other headings, appendix headings must be correctly nested; i.e., Appendix Head 3 should only be used inside a section headed by an Appendix Head 2 paragraph.
Appendix Text
Regular body text inside an appendix should be styled as Appendix Text.
Other content that might appear in an appendix, such as equations, block quotes, lists, figures, tables, boxes, etc., should be styled using the appropriate style from the Body, List or Object tab.
Example
The following example demonstrates the use of the appendix paragraph styles. This illustration is an excerpt from the sample document:
