The Auto-Style is options on the section of Cleanup that dialog can help you automate a lot much of the formatting for paragraph styling of your document. There are 3 things that you have the option to auto-style in CleanupWhen selected, Auto-Style will apply eXtyles paragraph styles to following content:

  • Regular Body Paragraphs with Style

  • Tables

  • References

Regular Body Paragraphs with Style

This Cleanup feature converts will style all regular body paragraphs to with the selected style from the drop-down box. It will not affect the local menu while preserving all local formatting within the paragraphs, including italic and boldface markup within the paragraphs.

Tables

This Cleanup feature automatically styles all tables in the document that were created with the Word Table Editor with Table Head, Table Body, and Table Footnote paragraph stylesTable titles will be your organizations eXtyles table head, table body, and table footnote paragraph styles.

Note that table footnotes are only auto-styled if they are within a Word table cell; table titles are automatically styled even if they are outside of the a table cell.

References

This Cleanup feature automatically styles numbered reference lists, or unnumbered reference lists that follow a heading such as “References” “References,” with the Reference reference paragraph style that is configured to for your organization.

Note

Documents that have a Name-Date citation style (i.e. unnumbered references) should have a section head (e.g., “References” or “Bibliography”) so that Cleanup can identify the content correctly. (See more →)
