What is a build?

explanation for what a build is, what the number means, and how we use them

This page needs to include the “types” of eXtyles that an organization can have (JATS, STS, Custom) with links to the specific user documentation where applicable

We use an Agile development methodology, meaning that we continuously evolve requirements, solutions, and improvements during development, based on real-time feedback, and make those improvements available to customers on a rolling annual release cycle. Whenever you receive an update of eXtyles, you’re getting the very latest and greatest version!

A key part of eXtyles development is the nightly “build” process. Every evening, an automated process running on Inera’s servers takes all the latest code and data from our source control system—including any changes made that day—and puts it all together into a new release of eXtyles. We call this “building” eXtyles because it involves pulling and compiling thousands of files each night.
