Depending on your configuration, Document Activation may also include Get Metadata.
This feature sends a query to metadata web service you’ve specified (for example, a submission system), connects to the relevant database, and imports the correct metadata to your Document Information Dialog. eXtyles then adds this metadata to your XML export. Depending on your editorial style, eXtyles may also add it to the title page.
How to use
To search for document metadata, fill in the search fields and click Get Metadata.
Warning: Do not edit metadata in the Update Document Information form. Such changes will only affect local records and not records in the database.
