The Body Tab of the eXtyles style palette includes paragraph styles that will be used to style content that will generally appear in the body of book and journal documents.

Style NameDescription of Use
Subtitle Level 1Used to style the first-level heading in the body of the article; this is not the same as the article title, which should use the Chapter/Article Title style.
Subtitle Level 2Used to style the second-level heading in the body of the article.
Subtitle Level 3Used to style the third-level heading in the body of the article.
Subtitle Level 4Used to style the fourth-level heading in the body of the article.
Subtitle Level 5Used to style the fifth-level heading in the body of the article.
Epigraph - TextUsed to style a short quote at the beginning of an article; not considered to be a block quote (different layout).
Epigraph - ReferenceUsed to style the source of the epigraph that is not given in a footnote.
Drop CapUsed to style body text paragraph that needs to start with a drop cap. This will typically be the first paragraph in an article, or the first paragraph in a section.
Normal Text - No IndentUsed to style body text that is flush-left (i.e., no indent).
Normal Text - IndentUsed to style body text that contains a first-line indent.
Normal Text - CenteredUsed to style body text that must be centered.
NT - No Indent w/White LineUsed to style body text that is flush-left (i.e., no indent), and includes white space at the top of the paragraph.
NT - Indent w/White LineUsed to style body text that contains a first-line indent, and includes white space at the top of the paragraph.
NT - Centered w/White LineUsed to style body text that must be centered, and includes white space at the top of the paragraph.
Normal Text - ContinuedUsed to style body text after an equation or list that is flush left because it continues a sentence.*
Block Quote - TextUsed to style an entire paragraph in the body of the article that is a quote.
Block Quote - Text w/White LineUsed to style an entire paragraph in the body of the article that is a quote, and includes white space at the top of the paragraph. Generally used to style two separate block quotes that follow each other.
Block Quote - Translation w/White LineUsed to style block quotes in a language other than the language of the article, an includes a white space at the top of the paragraph.
