The Other section of Post-Processing Cleanup covers three (3) areas:

  • Remove Hyperlinks starting with text

  • Convert Footnotes and Endnotes to Plain Text

  • Convert plain-text Footnotes and Endnotes to Word Footnotes and Endnotes

When Remove Hyperlinks starting with text is checked, this function enables users to strip hyperlinks to Medline abstracts or DOIs that were automatically inserted during eXtyles reference validation processes.

Be sure to update the text box with the text you wish removed once you’ve enabled this option.

This function should not be used if the file is to be exported to XML.

When checked, Convert Footnotes and Endnotes to Plain Text converts Word Footnotes and Endnotes to plain text and moves them to the end of the document.

By default, this conversion happen during the initial Cleanup, so this option is for organizations that prefer to maintain Word Footnote and Endnote structure during copy editing.

For more information, contact your support representative at Inera.

When checked, Convert plain-text Footnotes and Endnotes to Word Footnotes and Endnotes allows plain-text notes to be converted to Word Footnotes and Endnotes.

For more information about handling of footnotes and endnotes in eXtyles, see the page “Footnotes/Endnotes.”

To discuss your footnote and endnote workflow, contact your support representative at Inera.
